Organize guest photos from a wedding weekend across several days

Choose the audience first, give guests a consistent way to contribute and sort downloaded files into a few event folders afterwards. A welcome dinner and a farewell brunch may need different sharing decisions even when they belong to the same wedding weekend.

Start with the guest lists

Write down the gatherings you are actually hosting: perhaps a welcome meal, the wedding and a brunch. Mark which guests attend each and whether any photos should remain within a smaller group.

GuestCam’s organization guide raises the question of separate audiences. Decide who may view each gathering before choosing one collection or several.

Make the collection choice before printing

One collection can be convenient when the people contributing and the intended viewing audience are the same. If one dinner needs a different audience, choose a workflow that gives it separate access. A folder name on your computer later will not undo earlier gallery access.

For JoinAlbum, plan around one owned album per host account. Do not print a different album invitation for every gathering and assume they can all sit under that account. Confirm the event date and actual access schedule before inviting guests.

Agree who may see and share the photos

Hand over the link at each gathering

Ask the host of each meal to make one short request, using the same contribution link if you chose one collection. A welcome-table card can travel to the brunch table; check that its wording still makes sense there.

Example: “If you took pictures at our welcome dinner or today’s celebration, we would love them here: [album link]. Ordinary table moments are welcome too. Thank you!” Adapt the event names to your own programme.

Sort your downloaded copy with an honest structure

Example folders: “Welcome meal”, “Wedding day”, “Farewell brunch” and “Date unclear”. These are folders you create in your own archive, rather than a promised feature inside an upload album.

Keep the downloaded collection intact and sort a working copy. If a photo’s date seems wrong after travel or forwarding, ask its contributor rather than guessing. Let ambiguous pictures stay in the last folder until you can identify them.

Practical questions

Does this require several albums?+

It depends on who may view each gathering. Shared access may suit one collection; different audiences may require separate collections in a workflow that supports them.

Will the album sort everything into events automatically?+

This plan uses folders you create after downloading. Do not rely on automatic event sorting or assume every file has a correct capture date.
