How to make a wedding photo QR code that works

01

Test the whole route, not just the scan

A code can scan perfectly and still lead to a sign-in page or a 'request access' screen. Try uploading a photo from a phone that isn't yours.

02

Print it big enough

At least 3 cm (about 1.2 in) wide on a table card, and bigger on a sign people read from across the room. Keep the white border around it.

03

Keep dark on light

Every colour here is dark on white, which every phone camera reads. Light codes on dark backgrounds fail on some phones.

Wedding photo QR code FAQ

Is this QR code generator really free?+

Yes. No account, no watermark and no trial. The code is generated in your browser and the link you paste is not sent anywhere.

Will the QR code expire?+

No. It is a static code: the link itself is written into the pattern, with no redirect service in between. It works for as long as the link it points to works.

Can I change the link after printing?+

Not with a static code; you would print a new one. Paid dynamic QR services let you change the destination later, but the code only works while you keep paying them.

Which link should I put in the code?+

One your guests can upload to from a phone, without being invited one by one. A shared Google Photos album or Drive folder is free, but usually asks guests to sign in with Google. A JoinAlbum album asks only for a name; it is free for up to 10 photos or videos and €49 once for unlimited.

PNG or SVG?+

PNG is a large image that works in Word, Canva and most print shops. SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size, best for big signs and professional printers.

Skip the sign-in screen for your guests

A JoinAlbum album gives you the link and the QR code in one go. Guests scan, type their name and upload photos and videos from their phone browser.
